218th EIS

Retirement & Closing Ceremonies

The 218th EIS held their Retirement & Closing Ceremonies March 29 & 30, 2008.

The ceremonies were very nice, well planned and well attended. The retirement ceremony was at a banquet hall at Jefferson Barracks, ANGB just south of St. Louis, Missouri.  All members were in full dress uniform, and many family members and retirees came to wish their best.

Some of the retirees who attended include ---

  • Lt. Colonel Cosetta Wright, former 218 EIS Commander
  • CMSgt. John Cable, former 218 EIS Workloader
  • MSgt. Darlene Stapleton Supply NCOIC
  • CMSgt. Perry Jackson, Antenna NCOIC
  • CMSgt. Herb Weakly (who came from Afghanistan)

State leadership was represented by ---

  • General Craig McCord, Missouri Joint Forces Headquarters Commander
  • Lt. Colonel James Loux, Commander, 217 EIS
  • Lt. Colonel Josh Soblaskey, 205 EIS/CC, represented the other EI units.

Colonel Norm Poklar, 251 Combat Comm Group/CC, came Saturday afternoon to present the AFOUA and attend the ceremonies on Sunday.

Lt. Colonel Barker, recent 218 EIS/CC, sent his regrets in a letter that was posted at the banquet hall.
